Chairman’s Bulletin – October

Well it now seems that Autumn is coming in so we need to keep playing to keep fit and warm!

Winter League starts this week so good luck teams.  Let’s hope we can win more trophies – 20 people are going to the S&DTL Presentations this year.

Congratulations to Ben & Sass for winning the Miller Tournament – £510 was raised which is being split between Prospect and HASAG in memory of Elaine & Ray Miller – well done Justin & family.

Also well done to Olli Madsen & Callum Wickens for winning the Junior Tournament in their respective sections and many thanks to Nicola who gives up her time to run the junior sessions.

Thank you to the few that supported our recent Race Night – we managed to raise £973.00.  Our fund-raising keeps your subscriptions down and will go towards replacing our worn-out fencing. Work will begin in February between league seasons to avoid disruption. We will need to raise more money so look out for future events.

One of these is a racquet demo evening on Friday 28th October. Come along for some social play, try out a new racquet and enjoy chilli and mulled wine for a small fee.

Our AGM is being held at The Red House on Wednesday 2nd November. Notifications have gone out – please come along especially if you want to join the committee.  We will be going to the Maharajah after for a curry to show our support to Khalique who is one of our main sponsors.  Please join us.

Don’t forget to check out the website, facebook, twitter and Instagram!!
